The definitive monograph on the work of one of the most prolific, versatile, and exciting artists of the last three decades

Over the past 30 years, Swiss-born, New York-based artist Ugo Rondinone has developed a distinct body of work: vibrant paintings, immersive installations, sculptures, and text-based works, all united by a poetic quality and an enduring preoccupation with such universal themes as time and cosmic cycles.

Profoundly interested in the contemplation of everyday life, Rondinone reconciles the visual language of psychedelia and advertising with meditative, intimate reflections on personal and collective experiences. This book brings fresh perspective to his remarkable life and career and is a must-have for his huge global following.

Ugo Rondinone (b. Brunnen, Switzerland, lives and works in New York) is an artist who makes works defined by a poetic quality and an enduring preoccupation with universal themes such as time, cosmic cycles, or the primordial opposition of day and night. As well as several distinct groups of paintings (landscapes, mandalas, horizons, windows, stars and brick walls), and immersive installations (featuring clowns, multi-coloured windows, and monochrome-painted walls), Rondinone makes sculptures in various materials (including an ongoing series titled still.life, and a number of large-scale masks), monumental landscape drawings, intimate still life drawings and text-based works.
