Dana Schutz has been hailed as one of the most innovative painters of her generation, known for bold brushstrokes, dynamic use of color, and imaginative compositions. Line Painter features a 13-color silkscreen, etching, and aquatint to bring complexity, depth, and vivid saturation to this new iconic edition.
Line Painter is presented in a bespoke presentation box alongside a hardcover copy of her new Contemporary Artist Series book. This first comprehensive monograph on her work was created in close collaboration with the artist and features a number of never-before-seen paintings and drawings.

Dana Schutz (b. 1976, Livonia, MI) is a New York-based painter and sculptor who constructs complex visual narratives that engage the capacity of art to represent subjective experience. A major solo exhibition of the artist’s work, Dana Schutz: The Visible World, is currently on view at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris until February 2024.
Recent solo exhibitions have been on view at the Transformer Station, Cleveland; the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston; the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal; and The Hepworth Wakefield, England. The artist has also been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Neuberger Museum of Art, Purchase College, State University of New York; the Miami Art Museum; the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver; Atlanta Contemporary Art Center; and the Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts; among others. Her works are held in numerous public collections including The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Schutz is represented by David Zwirner.
