You can join Jp McMahon on The Irish Cookbook tour
The chef and author launched the book in Dublin last night, and he’s coming to London on Monday 2 March
The Irish Cookbook by Jp McMahon draws deep on Ireland’s history, with recipes for potato farls, lamb stew and soda bread, but it also brings things thoroughly up-to-date, with haute cuisine techniques applied to Irish ingredients and flavour combinations.
So, it seems apt that McMahon launched this new title last night in Hen’s Teeth, a contemporary gallery, diner and design store in Dublin’s Blackpitts district.
McMahon shared his culinary knowledge, while the Hen's Teeth team share some of their favourite dishes from the book, including carrots, cockles, and beautiful pigs head and pistachio terrine.
Dublin’s Teeling whiskey distillery were on hand share out welcome cocktails, while guests including the food writer Katy McGuinness, The Irish Examiner’s Leslie Williams, and the Sunday Times’ Corinna Hardgrave, and Jp’s daughter’s Heather and Martha came along to celebrate McMahon’s new book.
Couldn’t make it? Don’t worry, it’s not all over just yet. On the evening of Monday 2 March, McMahon will be delivering a talk and cooking demonstration at Le Cordon Bleau London. Tickets, which include a signed copy of the new book, are still available here. Come along; it’s bound to be a fun night. You can buy tickets here, or, if you can't make Monday, buy a copy of The Irish Cookbook here.
