Fredrik Berselius wows diners in London and Amsterdam
Brooklyn's hottest chef wins over Europe's diners, VIPs, the press and key influencers
Fredrik Berselius, the Swedish chef may have found fame in New York, cooking thoughtful, artfully pared-down dishes at his acclaimed restaurant Aska; yet he's still able to impress European gastronomes, back in his home continent.
Berselius flew into London a few days ago to cook, sign copies of his new book, also called Aska, and meet the press. He discussed his creative process at Le Cordon Bleu cookery school with an audience of young chefs and food lovers, before offering attendees samples of his signature desserts; he dropped into the studios of Monocle 24 radio; he caught up with social media influencer Clerkenwell Boy; and he oversaw two incredibly well received dinners at the acclaimed London restaurant, Lyle's, cooking dishes from his new book for the press and VIP guests.
Jetting over to Amsterdam, he cooked another gala dinner at the prestigious Rijks, which forms part of the city's Rijksmuseum. Joining executive chef Joris Bijdendijk, Fredrik prepared a stunning four-hands dinner, and also found time to speak with press representatives from Villa D’Arte, Elle Etan Magazine and BOL.com, before returning to the US, to begin his US book tour.
