Art advisors Ethan Wagner and Thea Westreich Wagner on putting together a collection that's really rewarding
Last week we posted a video of art advisors Thea Westreich Wagner and Ethan Wagner talking about how to avoid the common pitfalls when collecting art that you love. Much of their advice is contained, of course in their magnificent book, Collecting Art for Love, Money and More.

Once again, Thea and Ethan have some pretty compelling things to say about the concept of buying for money - many of which will challenge any preconceptions you may have about collecting art from this standpoint.
As Thea says at one point: "It's difficult in the world of collecting to remove yourself from the concept of money. You're buying something, it's worth X number of dollars and the hope is it's going to be worth X times 10. That issue is never far outside of the room. And it's very difficult - even for the purest of collectors who buy for love… money just has to be considered."
It's another long video (around 15 minutes) but we think Thea and Ethan have a lot of valuable information to impart, even if you have no intention of buying a piece of art right now.
